Curtis Ames is a visual artist living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Ames’ creative research has evolved out of an ongoing interest in concepts related to the ethics of irresolvability. These issues continue to propel his practice, regardless of medium, and constitute the thematic underpinnings of much of his work. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. He received his MFA from Georgia State University.
In addition to his own practice, Ames frequently collaborates with Candice Greathouse. Working together since 2012, their collaborative practice includes installation, performance, drawing, time-based media, as well as curatorial projects. Their work has been exhibited at venues such as Atlanta Contemporary and the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, GA. Special projects include commissions by corporate sponsors such as Hotel Indigo and Comcast Xfinity. For more about her work and process, visit www.candicegreathouse.com.
